Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DoTalk ("we", "us")
governing your use of the DoTalk mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By
creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our
Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use DoTalk
- You must be at least 18 years old. DoTalk connects you by live voice with
people you do not know; it is not for minors. We remove users we believe to be under 18.
- You must not have been previously banned from the Service.
- You must comply with these Terms and all applicable laws while using the Service.
2. Your account
- You can sign in with a Google account or continue as a guest. Guest accounts are
tied to your device and sign-in session: if you uninstall the app, clear its data, or lose
the device, a guest account (including its friends and chats) may be permanently
lost and cannot be recovered. Sign in with Google if you want your account to survive
a device change.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
- Provide truthful information — in particular, declaring a false gender to manipulate
matchmaking is a violation of these Terms (see verification below).
- You may delete your account at any time, in the app or at
our account-deletion page. Deletion is permanent.
3. The Service, limits and verification
- DoTalk matches you with other users for live one-to-one voice calls, lets you add people
as friends, call friends directly, and exchange text messages with friends.
- Fair-use limits. Parts of the Service are subject to limits — for example a
daily limit on cross-gender matches per account and per device, and per-device free
trials. Limits may change at any time as we tune the Service.
- Voice verification. Accounts declaring female gender may be required to
complete a short, human-reviewed voice verification (reading a displayed sentence) before
continuing to match. Clips are used only for the verification decision and are deleted as
described in the Privacy Policy. If verification is denied you
may appeal in the app and record a new attempt. Attempting to defeat verification (for
example with recordings or another person's voice) is a violation of these Terms.
- Calls are real-time and are not recorded by us. Chat messages between friends are stored
to provide message history.
4. Community rules — prohibited conduct
DoTalk is built on short conversations between strangers, so we enforce these rules
strictly. While using the Service you must NOT:
- engage in sexual content or conduct: sexual remarks or noises, solicitation,
nudity-related content, or any sexualized behavior toward another user;
- harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone, or contact someone who has asked
you to stop;
- use hate speech or attack people based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, sex,
gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar attributes;
- use the Service if you are under 18, or interact with anyone you believe is
under 18 (report them instead);
- record, store or share another user's voice, messages, or personal information
without their consent;
- impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity to deceive others, or
declare a false gender to manipulate matchmaking;
- send spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation, or ask users for money,
gifts, or off-platform payments;
- use the Service for any illegal activity, or to plan or promote one;
- evade enforcement: creating new accounts or using new devices to get around a
ban, limit, or verification requirement;
- interfere with the Service: probing, scraping, automated access, reverse
engineering, or exploiting bugs (report bugs to us instead).
5. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
- Report: you can report a user during a call, and rate them (thumb up/down with
a reason) after a call. Reports and negative ratings are reviewed and counted by our
moderation systems.
- Block: you can block any user; blocked users cannot be matched with you,
call you, or message you.
- Enforcement: we may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently ban accounts —
and the devices behind them — that violate these rules. Bans can be applied
automatically when a user receives negative reports from many distinct users,
and manually after review. We may also remove content and involve law enforcement where
appropriate.
- Appeals: if you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, contact
support.yapzy@gmail.com from the account in
question. Bans for severe violations are permanent.
- We are not obligated to pre-screen live calls or messages, but we may monitor signals
(such as reports) and act on them at our discretion.
6. Your content
- You own the content you create (your messages, your display name, your verification
recordings). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store,
transmit, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service
(for example, storing a message so your friend can read it).
- This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for data we are
allowed to retain under the Privacy Policy (for example, safety
records and messages already delivered to friends).
- You are solely responsible for what you say and send on the Service.
7. Free service and future paid features
- DoTalk is currently free to use, subject to the fair-use limits described above.
- We may introduce optional paid features (for example, removing daily limits). Any
purchases will be processed through Google Play, and Google Play's payment and refund
policies will apply in addition to these Terms.
- We may change what is free and what is paid at any time; changes never charge you
without your explicit purchase.
8. Talking to strangers — your responsibility
- The people you meet on DoTalk are strangers. Never share personal information —
your full name, address, phone number, financial details, or social handles — with someone
you just met.
- We cannot control other users' behavior off or on the platform, including whether they
record you with another device. Use the report and block tools; end any call that makes
you uncomfortable.
- Anything you choose to share with another user is shared at your own risk.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any
kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or
error-free operation, or that matches, calls, or messages will always connect or be
delivered. Call quality depends on your network. We do not vouch for, and are not
responsible for, the conduct or statements of any user.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, arising from or
related to your use of the Service — including interactions with other users. To the same
extent, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to
the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free account, is
zero) or the minimum amount required by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that
cannot be excluded by law. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your
violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
- By you: stop using the Service at any time, or delete your account in the app
or at the deletion page.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you
violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that
by their nature should survive (content license for retained data, disclaimers, liability
limits, governing law) survive termination.
12. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We are a small, evolving service: features, limits, and rules will change. If we materially
change these Terms we will update this page and its effective date and notify you in the
app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Courts at the developer's place of business in India will have exclusive jurisdiction,
except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer rights and
venue.
